Heabsy sponsors a free model in Mtrini Workspace
Starting with Mtrini Workspace 0.8.1, the coding agent works without an API key, an account or a card: Qwen3.8 27B, sponsored by Heabsy and running on their hardware in the EU.
The hardest part of trying an open-source coding agent is often the first five minutes. Before you can ask it anything, you need an account somewhere, an API key and usually a payment card. Many people stop there.
From today, that step is optional in Mtrini Workspace.
What changes
Open Mtrini Workspace 0.8.1 (opens in new tab) and the agent already works. The default model is Qwen3.8 27B, served and sponsored by Heabsy (opens in new tab), so you don't need a key, an account or a card.
It works like any other model in the app: it reads and edits your project, runs commands and tests, and checks its own work before telling you it's done.
Who Heabsy is
Heabsy is a company based in Bratislava, Slovakia. It runs open-weight models on its own hardware in the EU, behind an API that works with the same tools as OpenAI's. When we asked whether they'd back a free model for Mtrini Workspace users, they said yes.
How the free model works
- Requests go through a small relay we run. It holds Heabsy's key, so the key never ships inside the app, and it keeps usage inside the sponsorship.
- Everyone gets a daily allowance. That's roughly one full agent task, or a few dozen short chat replies, per day. It resets at midnight UTC, and the app tells you when you've used it.
- We don't store your prompts or answers. To count the allowance, the app sends a random ID made on your computer (not your name or account), and the relay keeps a hashed IP address and how much was used today. Those counters are deleted every day. Heabsy's own terms apply to the requests it processes.
- Nothing else changes. Pick any other provider or a local model and nothing goes through the relay. Settings, keys and local models work exactly as before.
If you need more
If the daily allowance isn't enough, you can create your own Heabsy key at platform.heabsy.com (opens in new tab) and add it under Settings → Providers → Heabsy, or connect any other provider. That link is a referral link: if you sign up through it, Heabsy shares part of what you pay with Compiwer AI.
Thank you
Mtrini Workspace is an independent, open-source project built in Morocco. A sponsor like Heabsy is what lets us give everyone a working agent from the first minute. Thank you to the Heabsy team.
